MEAT A FAMILY Green Orchid is introducing a fresh campaign tagged “Meat-a-family”.
This project seeks to offer our meat boxes to 1500 underprivileged families across communities in Lagos and Enugu State. Our plan is to run this project for a period across select communities in the highlighted regions.
Why Meat-a-Family?
Good nutrition provides the perfect foundation for families to live healthy and kids to flourish. Well-nourished children are better able to grow, learn, play and participate in their communities.
According to UNICEF, an estimated two million children in Nigeria suffer from Severe Acute Malnutrition. A new report tagged “The Nigerian Protein Deficiency Report (2020)” revealed an alarming level of protein deficiency in the country.
On the background of these statistics, Green Orchid is stepping in with the “meat a family” food drive to provide highlighted underserved communities with meat boxes enough to last them for weeks.
Protein is an essential nutrient for good health and growth in children and adults. With the realities of the pandemic, an exponential hike in the cost of food item and inflation in the country; families are finding it increasingly hard to feed well let alone get balanced meals.
How you can help?
For every purchase of our boxes you make this season, a percentage goes into donations for the “meat a family” project.
Even if you don’t need the boxes, you can gift someone some boxes this season; your friends, colleagues, family etc. and be assured that a percentage of it will go into donations that will provide good nutrition to underserved families in Eastern and western Nigeria.
